Exams and Sport

I have now done 1/2 of my exams as I had 4 in 4 days over the last week. The next 4 are slightly more spread out with ones on Thursday and Friday this week, and then wednesday and Thursday the following week.

What with the weather getting nicer we decided to have a BBQ on saturday, the difficulty of course being the fact that we don’t have a garden (or rather access to the garden). That didn’t cause any problems as there is a little courtyard outside the front of the house so I set the 2 disposable BBQ’s up on the little cupboard that has the electricity meters in and cooked out there. We then ate in the lounge which was a little cosy as there were 7 of us, and our lounge only just fits a 3 seater sofa and the TV. I shall be going to another BBQ tomorrow (3rd of the year), hopefully it will be a little more spacious.

Today I finally got around to going and picking up the sails for my boat from my Aunt’s house, which I had been meaning to do ever since I got the moped back. I then went to the Sailing club to renew my membership, as it was due a month ago. Unfortunately the racing had finished by the time I got there, but I decided that I may as well go for a sail as I was there and it wasn’t raining. There wasn’t a great deal of wind though it did pick up for a bit, though having checked the online stats since getting home it has now annoyingly got windier. Never mind though as I should get some nice windy sails, as I hope to go sailing most weekends unlike last year when I only made it twice before the moped packed in making it about £50/hr, This year I have already got it down to about £80/hr.

It looks like I will be quite busy now in the evenings and weekends as I have discovered that the wednesday night skates have started (in fact I have missed at least 2). I also hope to give the friday night skates a go too, though the second half may be a bit fast for me (there’s only one way to find out!). This will mean that my weekly schedule is likely to be:
Monday – Climbing or Swimming
Tuesday – Bar
Wednesday – Skating
Thursday – Climbing
Friday – Skating
Saturday and/or Sunday – Sailing.
All this for someone who isn’t really that sporty.

Exams

I have 3 weeks of exams coming up with the first one being on monday. Have I done enough revision? I’ll find out. Some of our lecturers have been nice and have offered to do revision sessions for us, the first of which was yesterday for the exam on monday morning.

So as you can tell I’m not one of those people that gets really panicy arround exam time and disapears of into isolation so that they can spend all the hours of the day revising. This is mainly because I would get far too bored if I did, but also because I feel that there is a point at which you stop taking the information in and so continuing past that point is silly.

I am still doing stuff like going climbing (though possibly not the evening before a morning exam) as this gives me a chance to get away from things. I haven’t got around to sorting out renewing my sailing club renewal and collecting the equipment from my aunts, maybe that will have to wait until after the exams.

catchup

The other day I realised how long it has been since my last post. This is down to the fact that lot’s of things have been happening, and I have been too busy to post (or just forgetting to when I did have the time).

After the dramsoc show we had the MTsoc show followed by Thomas’s school putting on charlie and the chocolate factory (with a real chocolate waterfall) and then the first week of the holidays saw queensgate girls school perform alice in wonderland.

We have now had 2 out of 4 weeks of easter holiday, and unlike the last two years where I had another 3 weeks after the start of term before exams this year my first exam is on the monday that term starts. This means that there is not much time left for revision so I am only working a couple of shifts for conferences, and have said to them that I can only realy do shifts which involve sitting in a projection room so that I can try and get revision done whilst working (hmm getting paid to do revision).

Last tuesday we had a bigger bar night than usual as it was mine and ally’s birthdays, so we purchased 9 gallons of youngs bitter and 11 gallons of carlsberg (and some cans of soft drinks for those who don’t drink) By the end of the night we had completely finnished the bitter and only had 1 or 2 gallons of the lager left. We could possibly finnished the larger too if some of theose that had been drinking bitter swapped to the lager instead of starting to buy more bitter from the bar.
