Almost Over

So 2 weeks remaining and I havent writen anything for a while.

I keep thinking of things to write about how the travels are going, and then when I get to a computer I forget what I wanted to write. I should probably write stuff down on paper when I think about it.

Since the last post I have made my way north through chile to San Pedro de Atacama, passing through areas of the atacama desert which havent seen rain since records began. From San Pedro (2300m) it was then into southern bolivia at over 4000m with one stop being at 4780m. Through southern bolivia up to the north to La Paz the worlds highest capital (3600m) and then lake Titicaca.

I am now in cusco Peru the lowest Ive been since the 14th so no problems with the altitude for me. I shall be setting off on the Inca trail on Friday Track my progress here.Although it is still the wet season the weather seems to be very good as Ive only seen a small amount of rain, and only at night so the weather should be better than it was for those walking in the Peaks for the easter weekend.

A few days rest

Back in Santiago for a few days before heading on the Pachamama bus north to San Pedro de Atacama. From there I will then be heading to Bolivia and then onto Peru for the Inca Trail on the 28th.
The southern trip was enjoyable, and I am glad that I took the opertunity to jump off the bus in Pucon and Puerto Varas, though it is a shame that the bus was only twice weekly as the time spent off the bus was more than enough, and had there been some more buses I would also have liked to stop off in Valdivia for more than the afternoon that we had there. Whilst in Puerto Varas a group of us that had jumped off the bus hired a car and went to visit the island of chiloe for a couple of days, and I had my first experience of driving on the wrong side of the road, in fact the first experience in a car since my test, though I only drove on the extremely quiet dirt roads.
