I have been involved in a couple of productions recently. At the beginning of the month was the anual visit to Budleigh Salterton with Musical Theatre Tour Society for two weeks. This years show (Babes in arms) is not the best show in the world the cast made their best of it, fun was had, and lots of alcahol was drunk.

Then after a week of recovery I was bored and needed something to do for the weekend, when I remembered that I had been asked if I was able to help with a setup that weekend, and having helped with the setup was then asked if I was free to ASM the show, which ran from sunday until tonight. It was at the Network Theatre which is a small venue in the arches under Waterloo Station, seating aprox. 70. Though I am now ready for some rest again as doing a show that doesn’t finnish until 11pm and then having 6:30 starts for conferences does not make for having much sleep

So as Andy commented yesterday was the last night of the Dramsoc show, which I went to see on wednesday. I had had some reservations about it, as I wasn’t sure that doing it in the round was a great idea with all the dificulties it brings. However I was very impressed, and would say it was probably the best of the dramsoc shows since I have been at imperial, and am now thinking that it might not have been as good if done on the stage, as it may have caused the actors to be alot more static.

Last night was also the MTSoc spring show social, I joined them for the first half at namco’s but was unable to join them when they headed onto Kings union as I had to get back to south ken and help with the strike for the show.

Today was another busy one with Waran and some of the other crew setting up for Malaysian night, whilst I was sorting things out for the medics in the concert hall, and setting up for the srilankan society dinner in the JCR and MDH.

So now all I need to do is go home and get some nice earned sleep ready for tomorrows rehersal, as well as packing up srilankan society event and helping medics again.

So it’s got to the stage of the term when it becomes really busy. Next week is the Dramsoc play, so was helping Andy on wednesday and yesterday with the lighting setup, and said I would give him a hand again today to help with the Plot. After the dramsoc show we then have the medics and that is then followed by the MTSoc Show “A Slice of saturday Night” which I am lighting. And then of course there is thomas’ school. All this with a couple of great hall shows thrown in for fun.

So not only is it going to be a busy time with Dramsoc for the rest of the term, but just at the same time we have now been set courseworks in all of the subjects that I am taking this term, the first of which is due in on monday.

Despite it going to be a busy time I still want to find some time to go swimming, I managed to go twice again this week swimming a mile each time, I want to keep this up to regain some fitness. If I can get people back into coming it would also bed nice to start climbing again, it will have to remain at the westway for now as they are not sure when the climbing wall at the new sports centre will be opening.
